App policy
CNA CE California Privacy Policy
CNA CE California is an education app for California Certified Nurse Assistants, built around the topic areas the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) lists for CNA continuing education. It is not a CDPH-approved continuing-education provider. This policy explains what the app records, why, and what control you have over it.
Last updated: July 20, 2026Education only — and not approved for renewal credit
The app is study software. It does not provide medical advice, is not a medical device, and must not be used to guide patient care. CNA CE California is not a CDPH-approved continuing-education provider and no provider application is on file, so the hours you complete here do not count toward your CNA renewal and the certificates the app issues are samples, marked as such. Always follow your facility's policies and confirm with CDPH or your employer what satisfies your own renewal requirements.
Information you give us
Creating an account requires an email address and a password, or Sign in with Apple. You may also provide your name and your California CNA certificate number so they print correctly on your certificates of attendance. Your CNA certificate number is a professional licence number and we treat it accordingly — it is never used for advertising, never shared, and never included in analytics.
Information the app records as you study
To produce an accurate record for you, the app records which lessons you start and finish, how long you spend on each slide, your quiz attempts including the ones you do not pass, and the certificates it issues. It also records whether you have purchased the full course.
Where your information is stored
Your records are saved on your device. When the app is connected to our hosted service, they are also stored on servers we operate in the United States, so you can recover them if you change devices. In preview and TestFlight builds that are not yet connected to that service, everything stays on your device only — the app tells you which state it is in on its sign-in screen.
Analytics, tracking, and advertising
The app contains no advertising, no attribution SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. Optional usage analytics are off by default; if you turn them on in Profile → Privacy, the app sends anonymised event names such as "lesson_start" with no user identifiers attached. You can turn them off again at any time. Crash reports come from Apple's built-in MetricKit and are aggregated and anonymised by Apple before they reach us.
Purchases
The full course is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Keeping and deleting your records
We keep your study records so that you retain your own history of what you completed. Because CNA CE California is not a CDPH-approved provider, these are not regulatory continuing-education records, and we do not claim a regulatory basis for holding on to them.
You can ask us to delete your account and your information by emailing richard@yourfriendrich.com. Deleting the app from your device removes the copy stored there.
Your California privacy rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you can ask what we collect, ask for a copy of your information, ask us to delete it, and ask us to correct it. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, email richard@yourfriendrich.com.
Children
The app is intended for working Certified Nurse Assistants and people training for that role. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
